Re: GS750C
Its completely different MIke. Narrower, slightly longer and a bit more "teardrop". Even the fuel flap, although looking similar, is different. Kev

Re: GS750C
Thanks Kev, I thought it was a bit different but good to know a bit more for the memory banks.
Cheers,
Mike

Re: GS750C
No pics, just progress update. Frame and other bits taken to the powder coaters today so should have back in time to start the build over the Christmas hols Engine casing on it's way to Sunny Wales for some surgery. (Cheers John !) Currently masking up the wheels for painting in the black contrast. What a b*ll aching job that is Onward and upward !

Completed the front wheel
Masked up (I am now completely cross-eyed )
Etch primed
3 coats satin black
The big reveal
Not too shabby

Re: GS750C
Cheers Barney! I've not painted up alloy wheels on a bike before but it was similar to when I painted a set of Rostyles for my MkI Escort (Fake Mexico lookalike ) way back in 79.

Re: GS750C
Back wheel masked up and ready to paint. I am now treble bog-eyed. I've settled on a masking technique that uses good old Tamiya model masking tape. It is very thin but you never get paint bleed through. Dead easy for finicky work like this. The rim has a high quality "Indasa" tape around it. It isn't cheap but seals very well and comes back off without leaving crap residue everywhere.

Re: GS750C
Well, that's the wheels done.
Fetched the frame and all other gloss black bits back from the powder coaters today. Cracking job by Aurora as usual
Boobed a bit as the brake discs haven't been refurbished yet so I can't build up the wheels to get the frame rolling I'm rushing them to Phil Jones and hope he takes pity on me.

Re: GS750C
Seriously Kev, if you paint each spoke a different rainbow colour, the wheel will look as if there are no 'spokes' when it's revolving.
Honest.
Look it up on gurgle, or just click on these;

It's called a Newton wheel effect.
I know some crap, me!
No comments needed Kev, Martin and Paul.

Alan, get a part time job. B&Q, Aldi, maybe Tesco: ANYWHERE!
