Mark, at the risk of igniting another already discussed debate, is that a flat bottomed or teardrop headlight i see? I had one on my J but was told it should be round so i changed it....( i still have the old one)

Hi Pete, it's flat on the J.
Was also flat on the blue K i did (both u.s. imports) however the gold K i did had a round headlight on it. That bike was a uk one, don't know if it makes any difference

Thanks Mark i changed mine because i was told it should be round.....never mind when i can afford to repaint the bike i will put it back! From my research(for the rivet counters) i have a rare headlamp sealed beam too.... Its a Koito unit which has the word motorcycle at the bottom with raised points on the outside. Shame it doesnt work on low beam! I also have a spare flat bottomed shell if anyone is looking for one.

I've also got the original sealed beam unit fitted to the bike which still works!!
The headlamp shell and mounts (ears?) are slightly damaged causing the indicators to be out of line. I've got a spare set of mounts & horseshoe headlamp bowl that need painting and I've also got a NOS horseshoe rim with all NOS fittings ready to go on as soon as I can get the paint done. When its painted or when I sell the bike one or the other set will be for sale.
They're rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!
A quote from my old dad 8-)

I started out with nothing and I’ve got most of it left!
