To get it to the rolling chassis stage I need a set of tyres, then the exhausts and a few more bits need chroming. Next is the motor, strip and vapour blast the top & bottom cases, barrels and cylinder heads then mirror polish the outer cases then re-assemble with new pistons, rings, seals and gaskets which fortunately I’ve already bought. I’ve got all the bits to make up a new wiring harness too. I recon around £800 should finish it :o

Another one of those fiddly little jobs done today. The fuel and oil tanks have a tapped strip of metal spot welded in to take the M3 screws which secure the badges but my plastic side panel just has holes. I turned up a couple of M3 top hat fittings out of some alloy bar and a touch of Gorilla glue holds them in place. Onwards and upwards.

Just sorted what is hopefully the last batch of chroming apart from the exhaust system to send to Sean. I’ve just taken delivery of a chain and sprocket set and the next item is a shiny new pair of Bridgestones. I’ve found someone local who’s offered to help true my wheels up which means I’m getting close to having a rolling chassis.

I've also got all my bits there awaiting chroming and heard of the same delay this week :o
