nos oil spider - gt550

Post by oldbiker »

Nice to have but I can see why we try to replace those check valves. I have replaced some of mine anyway.

Dunno why he's got it as late models - they're all the same fitment.
They're straightforward enough to strip & clean (or replace) anyway.

Early models had red pipes, later models are clear (ish) so you can see the oil. As these are red then they are early not late.
Currently without a GT, but looking

I have just checked my 550J and they are indeed red pipes. Which I should have remembered since I rebuilt the bike. My other later model 550 has clear oil pipes.

Can anybody afford to rebuild these bikes now if there are parts missing. Its the price of everything.

Thanks for answering my question before it had even formed in my brain.

I found a red GT750 oil spider/octopus/feed manifold in my stash and wondered if all early ones were red or just some came that way from a different supplier.

Thanks
