1978 GT500

Post by bobhenry999 »

Hi guys,

I have just added a 1978 GT500 to my garage, and want to do a gearbox oil change. Thing is, when I looked under the crankcase there are three big bolts and I don`t know which one to undo to drain the oil. I guess that one of them is the gearbox indent bolt but not sure about the other two. So I am unsure which one to use. Help !!

Take all three out, one is the gearbox plunger but it does not matter. and make sure you put 1400cc of oil back in

My mistake, once the oil had got round the gearbox it was fine. I guess it’s just the difference between old bikes, and if you’re not familiar with one type you start imagining things that aren’t there.
