Sris leak

Post by timmo »

Slight dribble from sris front bottom left looking at bike. Now unless I am lucky enough to just tighten it What happens when I remove bolt and the washer gasket either side of it. Does oil pump out and is there equivalent washers I can use. Also can I cause an airlock ? Dummies guide appreciated. Thanks

Hi.
The SRIS valve has a rubber hose attached to it which is held on by a metal spring clip. Just slide the clip off and then pull the hose off. There will be a small amount of oil dribble out but dont worry about that.
Then remove the valve and the washer behind. The washer is just a fibre one of the appropriate size obtainable at any DIY store.
Nothing is under pressure whilst the engine is off and you wont cause an airlock.
