Fuel cap breather

Post by Mr Bonehead »

Just a quick one,has the previous owner sealed up the breather on the fuel cap when he used a tank sealer? Can’t see any visible holes for the air to get in Though the tank was getting pressurized when running but now thinking it was causing s vaccum and shortage of fuel
Cheers Mr B
The shine is due to the sealer
Quick update ,the two small diamond shapes are the air vents,if you blow down one air comes out of the other, the inner fastening bit is seperate to the chrome outer bit, going to drill a small hole on the inside center near the lugs to see if that helps

Cheers for the photo ,put a piece of pipe onto the petcock and blew into the tank with the cap on and nothing came out of the cap,it just pressurized like a balloon!!! Going to drill a small hole in the center first to see what happens then invest in another one
Thanks again from France.MR B
