Mineral or semi synthetic oil

Post by Trev1958 »

I am sure this has been asked before but I can’t find it. Since my total engine re build, I have been using Silkoline T2. I know our old bikes weren’t designed for the newer oils but I have heard that the old mineral oils give the engine a little more power. My engine has now done 2500 miles and runs like new. What do you guys think, mineral or semi synthetic?

Personal preference and no discernible difference in performance.....

I use Honda 2 stroke transmission oil and others have their own personal choices.

I've got a kettle running on mineral and a T500 running synthetic and there is no difference to the smoke or anything else
