Fuel in air filter part 3

Post by Mr Bonehead »

Afternoon all, just a quick update about the non firing middle pot situation ,started the strip down to remove the crank ,had the head off recently to retrieve a tie wrap that got into the right hand cylinder via the spark plug hole 😖so that bit was easy ,noticed that the base gasket was fairly new and still soft ,looked like the previous owner had removed it ,luckily two taps with the rubber mallet and it was off ,had to remove the center stud to get the block off but managed to get to this point with the engine in the frame 😀
Cheers Mr B

Good start Mr. B. Before you try to lift that lump out, you can drain the oil, remove both engine side covers as well as the clutch and alternator rotor. It still weighs a ton, but it's less likely to damage your back lifting it.

Thanks teazer, took a few more bits off then slid a flat bar under the back of the motor resting on the frame ,same at front but used a trolley Jack handle instead and believe it or not when I removed the 4 engine mounting bolts it sat perfect, got a piece of 3x2 wood fastened with ratchet straps on top of the engine and me and the wife lifted it out onto a pallet, hopefully going to reverse the process to get it back in
Cheers Mr B
