charging system

Post by mrjones »

ive had the rotor rewound on my 750m and new slip rings bushes ,the stator checked out okay, i noticed on refitting, the electrical connectors look to have over heated (see photo) i dont think the reg/rec (RR77) will have been damaged but why would the connectors get hot from a lack of power?

Think the other way around. Those connectors often start to corrode which raise resistance and that leads to heat which further increases resistance and heat until they fail. Remove the terminals and clean them and insert into a new connector housing.
