UNDERSEAT WARNING DECALS

Post by ade2119 »

Does anyone know the correct positioning of the battery warning sticker and the oil tank breather cap decal. Personally I think that the battery decal fits on the inner rear mudguard and the oil cap decal on the frame rail left to right next to the cap,but others say differently.I am restoring an M model will try and put some pics on forum.Hope there is another anorak out there who might know.I have been trying to find the correct location by looking at pics in M handbook and various workshop manuals but they all seem to be showing different locations. Yes it is being rebuilt in the house !!

Hi thanks for your reply I have looked at the site previously and could not authenticte if the positioning is correct as nearly all the pictures I have of unrestored or unmolested bikes, never seem to show an oil cap warning decal either fitted on the frame rail or the inner fender, but ref pictures seem to show the battery warning decal always fitted to the rear inner mudguard/fender,have included few pics. Apparently these are from an unrestored factory bike and is identical to my M model before it was restored and in original condition.Does any one have any underseat pics of unrestored bikes, much apprieciated. I will post more pics of restoration from start to present soon and on completion hopefully will aid in other restoration projects cheers Ade

I suspect that's actually close to the mark - having said that, if folks do notice errors of omissions in the Field Guide then I do want to hear about them ! Its intended as a community resource, not a vanity project. Image

Ade - I just realised that possibly you hadn't read all the way down the page ! Perhaps what I need to do is add a few more photos and some better titles to make the page more clear, as the label location for the did change between the k/L/M and the A and B for this label. Could I perhaps use the photo you previously posted ? If so, just PM me your full name so I can attribute it correctly.

Thanks !
