Just had to renew my driving licence ready for the crinkly upgrade at the upcoming 70th birthday. 'Easy' to do online allegedly if you don't want or need the minibus bit keeping on.
OK then, online it is. Fairly straightforward but instructions say that I have to cut my old licence up and return it to dvla. Well, I probably will when I know they've done their job right......
3 days later, new licence appears, but as well as no minibus bit, there's no C1 class van bit either, which could be an issue if I need to do 'a Scotch' and take a bike for a ride in the back of one.
Ring dvla then. Oh, they are in dispute so no-one available. Chatbot is friggin' useless, so hopefully 'soon' there might be a real person available to sort things out.
At least they left my motorcycle & car stuff alone, so small mercies etc.
I'll be keeping the old licence a bit longer it seems......

I've still got a long way to go before I'm 70 but when we meet up in a few weeks time at the 2021 Wales rally, I'll be picking your brain cell about how to apply for the senior licence.

Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".
