Surging

Post by Optedout »

An old topic but new to me! Got my 750B finished with (I thought) all niggles sorted
out, only to find that it was like a mule when closing the throttle at almost any speed
once warm! It was virtually unridable until Baz fitted the magic anti surge jets and the
idle was adjusted down to barely 1000 rpm. Difference is unbelievable! Now a pleasure
to ride and it’s 1976 all over again (at least in my head) Thanks to Baz.

Hello everyone, I would like to add to those who solved the problem of surging to publicly thank Baz (Barry) from whom I purchased the BS30 / 97 jets. I had already partially solved the problem with careful carburetion by greasing the carburetion by unscrewing the air screw. However, I decided to install the jets with a fairly simple job. Now the motorcycle is idling at around 1100 rpm and goes smoothly when closing gas. Well thanks Barry. Sorry my english by Google.

I too fitted Bazs jets and dropped the idle to vastly improved the surging. Just wondering you guys still got the pilot at 3/4 turns out or increased it to 1/1 1/4 ?

Not sure about mine as Baz rebuilt my carbs then fitted them for me.
I’m sure he will chip in with the answer when he catches up with these posts,
probably at some hour when most of us are well asleep!

Sounds like a great strategy and it must be the path to ingenuity!
