You might have a nasty shock with chroming an old rack Frank.
I've just been quoted £200 at Agbriggs and I've cleaned it as best as possible, but they have to 'do it properly' acid dip it then chroming, so the rack will be going for powder coating I think.

I usually fit a Givi locking plate to a rack and then just clip my top box on whatever bike I'm going out on. I've also got a magnetic tank bag for when we go off on the Hippo!
I've got some givi rack arms too but it might be a faff adapting them. I'll have a look and see what can be done.

IIRC, mine's an Oxford. It has flaps that go down each side of the tank and 'stick' on with padded magnets, plus straps that click around the frame.. dead easy to move when you need to fill the tank - just unclick the straps - and leave them in position - and lift the bag off the tank.

I sell them chromed but might be out of your price range at £200 plus postage.
I've made 3 just waiting for uncle Boris to lift this lockdown malarkey.
