Wheel delima...

Post by Skyguyz »

*I'm located in the USA.

So....I'm restoring a 76 GT550 and the rear rim is a 19", not the 18". It is a Takasago 185 x 19 5F 102 Japan stamped on the rim. I already had both rims re-chromed so I really have to stay with these.
My question is, where do I find a set of zinc plated spokes for this rear rim? *I ordered a set from ebay and the front spokes fit fine, the rear spokes that came with the set are for an 18" rim. Although I scoured the internet, I could not come upon with any 19" rear spokes for a 76 Gt550. *I called Buchannan in the USA and they only sell stainless or bare steel I also contacted Paul Miller on Ebay and no luck there.

Is there a vendor in England that sells spoke for this size rim? Any help would be appricated.

Failing that try Crooks Suzuki in Barrow in Furness as they fitted a 19" rim to their production racer 550 and my 550J back in 1972. They also tuned my bike so the slight gearing change wasn't a problem.

Front was 19" IIRC. Have you tried a set for a drum brake GT550 or 750? The drum diameter is similar and they might just work.
