Re: gt550k
Hi
Where is the noise coming from? The cylinders or the crankshaft? The grooves on the clutch basket will cause a stiff clutch operation but shouldn't make a noise really. You say you have replaced the starter clutch is it springs and rollers or a Borg Warner?
If you get a rattling noise from the cylinders it could be piston slap from worn bores or rings. Does it go away if you rev the engine?

difficult to pin point the noise tbh , not so much a rattle , more a banging noise which does disapear with high revs a just wondered how noisy these motors can be though i don t know the history of the crank replaced starter clutch had new rollers and springs ,

These motors are very noisy lots of popping and banging. Unless you have a particular noise i would just get some earplugs
If it helps this is what piston slap sounds like
