Just wondering what sort of mileage I should expect from a set of B8ES in a gt550J. I know I put a set of new of plugs in some 7000 miles ago when the bike was restored and engine rebuilt.. I dont remember changing them since .... but I must have.... surly.
Its developed rough idle. Stuttering a bit. Might be time for a general service.

Yes maybe. But this time get the NGK B7ES which is correct for GT550J
The 8ES is for the later models
The rough idle could be a lot of things but start with new correct plugs

Thanks barney01. A new set of plugs are always for the best. I have always used b8es for all my triples. Even my gt750L which is supposed to use b6es. Its always run fine for some reason. I think the fear of a holed piston has kept me on the cooler plugs.
Anyway, I suspect the gt550J has gone off form a bit after a good period of time running well. A carb issue no doubt. Time for some attention.
