suzuki gt500 no spark

gt500 was running well , now no spark ! new ignition coil , new cdi unit ( rex speeds ) checked connections good , new stator coils , ignition switch seems to be working , new caps and leads , will swap rotor ( when i get it) doing my head in 😣 any ideas much appreciated

Hello quark77 you say the bike was running well was this before or after you replaced all those parts :?:

Is the kill switch connected properly?

this is after i replaced all those parts , kill switch is correctly connected ( one yb wire version)

no mate , i replaced those parts and it ran well , the loss of spark has just happened

With electrics especially Suzuki you could be chasing this one for months what i'm trying to say is was the bike running well before you fitted all those new parts that gives you at least a starting point.Trust me i had a GT250 A six months old back in 76 draining the battery within minutes of starting, took me months to find it :evil: all that it was an indicator wire front had rubbed down to earth :o so i would be inclined to check all the earths you have disturbed ;)

i m going to add some more earths as a matter of course , if necessary i ll whip the loom off , as you say i don t think its going to be a quick fix! I renewed a lot of things as part of the restoration it was a shed when i got it

update it was dodgy soldering on the pulse coil causing intermittant spark --- cured now !
