Re: GT550B clutch seal help

I pulled out and damaged the oil collector thing when removing the clutch seal. At the time I thought it was part of the seal. Had to get a replacement from a breakers (Govners Bridge) who kindly split an engine to get the part for me. It was a few years ago now, but still remember the horror when I realised what I had done.

There is only one external seal to worry about and it is part number 20 on this diagram

hi kev
that's one i'm picking up from my local suzuki shop tomorrow, i was concerned because even with this seal out it is still coming form the discontinued 24973-34000 oil plug seal , hopefully the new seal will do it's job

Maybe a smear of silcone sealer around it first? Belt and braces?

The oil plug is a reservoir. I dont think it acts as a seal. The push rod seal is what holds the oil in. Make sure the push rod is not worn otherwise oil could leak from the centre of the seal. The oil level is below the centre of the seal, unless the bike is left on the side stand.
