Re: best thing for a 550 ?
Never had bent forks, but broke my leg on the 214th October 1972 almost outside the Crooks Suzuki shop.
This was parked up at a trials meeting with the mate's T120R Bonneville in the background in 1973.
Yes, that's what we did in those days and called it customising.
Dented tank on the 550 was the price I didn't pay Crooks for their tuning - thanks Mr. Insurance company!!
It got done soon after and then............lent it to a mate who managed to drop it.
He was used to a Honda 400/4...... It got done again and I kept it for five years. lovely bike, which is why I've got one 'similar' now and one a bit different. Complete with tank badges now too!

No Paul, that would be solely reserved for Kraptanas.

Paul doesn't care who or what he critisizes does he? Jap bikes, old British bikes, new British bikes, Indian/British bikes, anything's fair game, apart from his bikes
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".

Mmmm I seem to remember criticising my Kettle quite a lot? Certain KKK members got quite upset when I was a member therestevewharton wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 9:45 pm

Oh and I’m thinking of buying an early Norton Commando as my next project, I’m fairly sure they are a proper British bike
