If you have no wire support on vacuum line .Make sure you have correct type pipe on the vacuum line as some can collapse when submitted to suction

Re: sunny sunday 1st ride out
OK so here we are again,
Out today at least ten miles round trip sunny afternoon dry roads lovely!!!!
Not quite right yet but miles better I dumped the inline filter and renewed the petrol /vacuum pipes now she dosn't drain the carbs on full chat but she occasionally coughs spits backfires on partial throttle openings , I pulled the plugs and the right and center are a nice Ginger nut shade of brown but the left is a bit black & oily I suspect the choke is still sticking a bit
I am not use to having to wring her neck to make progress AND the lack of engine braking is interesting to say the least
I think that I have forgotten how to ride a 2 stroke many years of big CC four strokes spoils you.( xjr 1300)
one things though, should there be a stay to steady the carbs to the head/barrels ? there seems to be a lot of flex in the carb rubbers and the left hand carb drain screw is touching the sprocket cover/case it could be because of their age but they were rock solid when they were fitted but I can wiggle the whole bank of three up and down now she is hot
Hey Ho onwards and upwards

The carbs are held between the barrels and airbox and don't move.
You have got an airbox, not pod filters?

Hi Alan ,
The carbs are on standard stubs and standard air box,
given the age of the rubber components I would have thought they would be stiffer but the air box tubes in particular are very squidgy.
I will have another look this morning now everything has cooled overnight .
