Hi everybody, my name is Martyn. I've not posted on here for ages. I finished my GT750, and now started on a 550. Its sort of gone ok, but finding parts harder to come by than the 750. Anyway, I have been having trouble installing the kickstart mechanism inside the casing. I've made sure that the spring pin is located, the dowels are in the 2 bushes. But each time I tighten the 3 bolts on the casing, directly above the shaft, the whole shaft tightens and will not return once the return spring is primed. I have put a new inner spring on the shaft, but still the same. I have noticed that once the shaft is located in place, the whole shaft rocks a little from left to right. So I am wondering if the shaft mechanism is bent? has anyone experienced this, or have any ideas what my be causing this?
Cheers
Martyn.
