Gt550 generator
Hi! I have a gt550, 1975, in Canada, and my generator doesn’t put out any/ enough electricity. I believe it’s a Denso model. Any suggestions on a fix or anyone with a complete one for sale? Thanks!

What have you tested so far? They didn't put out a lot of power, so LED lights and modern regulator/rectifier help as do relays on the lighting and ignition circuits.
What problems are you having with it?

Lots more if you search for 'alternator' or 'charging.'
Denso alternator shoves out 28 volts and 26.5 amps. See thread link above.
That's plenty for most lights......

Thanks. I didn’t test. Had a bike mechanic do it. If I run the lights, the bike dies. Mechanic told me the unit not charging. Not the rectifier the problem.

So check the voltage to the rotor. If the battery voltage is low, it should put more power to the rotor - are the brushes ok? Then the alternator generates more to the rectifier. Does it? Usually this issue is down to 40+ year old connections being dirty. Pull each plug/socket apart SEPARATELY so you can't get them wrong when you put them back and clean all male & female connections.
You need a bike ELECTRICIAN, not a mechanic.
Lots of info on here if you do a search, I wrote a lot of it.
If your bike tester is any good, he should be able to sort it easily.......
