And back again when we see what's at the end of it.

Anyway, Earwig has been running since 2016 and went to the Classic TT that year.

The old fuel starvation seemed to come back, but only when the tank was full, so flipped the cap slightly open and it seemed to clear. Hmmm, tank cap breather part blocked? Of course, with a full tank, the air in the tank will be less, so get a partial vacuum sooner? Seems better after 40 miles or so, when 5 litres of 97 have gone out of the pipes, so makes some sense.
Anyway got home and removed the breather/seal assembly and soaked it in derust acid a couple of times to get the crap out. All ready to go back together for a run if/when it stops raining.
Nowt straightforward is there?

Just bled (bleeded?) the back brake on the Earwig. Not something normally done on a GT550, eh? ;)
The hydraulic clutch is fine btw!!! :)

Earwig is still sleeping, except for the occasional wakeup call to run the crap E5 stuff through the system, starting is iffy when cold, but I refuse to fit a kickstart! Sounds lovely though!!
I have a new CBW ( Canalletto Borg Warner - he doesn't like CCI (cheap chinky import) part to sort this out when the weather gets a bit warmer, then all should be ok. A gearbox oil change and fingers crossed, all will be well for some summer mileage. I do love that bike.
Mebbee finally time to get it on a rolling road just to see...... :?

Finally managed to sort the occasionally unruly starter clutch which now appears to work every time. All now remantled & filled up with Duckhams oil - fuel tap on prime , hit the button and fired up as God intended. Woo and a bit of hoo!
Next fine day, Earwig will be going for a run!!
