Vintage motorcycle

Post by bod750 »

I have been trying to clarify what is a " Vintage Motorcycle " from what I have found its a bike made after 1915 and over 30 years old?, seems to be a bit open? Would you really classify say a bike built in 1990 as vintage.
Any advice would be appreciated.

The classification of vintage in cars is those built specifically between 1919-1930. Any after that are called classics. I think the same applies to bikes. Anything built before 1919 is called antique. Kev

Forgot to mention that to be a classic it has to be over 40 years old. Scary to think that 1980 is seen as a classic year

Doubtless you'd know more about veteranism than the rest of us Paul - considering you had you 2nd millennium birthday recently.
That'd make you prehistoric, or thereabouts.
