GT750j/550j brake air intake plate.
A friend has a GT750j which he purchased from DK.He also likes to collect spares and has quite a decent collection of wheels, frames, tanks and front hubs.We were chatting about his collection and he asked me why there are two types of front brake air intake plate(slotted and holes)Has anyone any information on why there are two types?

The 'lumpy ' louvred lookalike chromed plate covered the one with holes in for extra cooling.
Take the 4 screws out and the other plate should be underneath.
Take the 5 rubber bungs out for air throughput.
The outer plate wasn't slotted though, just lumpy.

The word your looking for is louvered not lumpy and it was like that to stop water getting in

Correct, except that summat what's louvred has louvres in - which are slots.
So 'lumpy' is more accurate than 'non louvred louvres innit? Chuffin' kids - yer just can't get the staff nowadays.....

Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".
