Re: GT380M Restoration
Very nice, I almost bought a new one in 1972 the 380J drum brake version. Unfortunately I couldn’t afford the HP repayments and put petrol in it so I bought a new Hustler instead.
They're rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!

Thanks Guys! I'm really happy with it. It's a great community here and a useful knowledge base to have as most questions I had were already answered in previous threads.

Re: GT380M Restoration
I have had the bike out a couple of times now, sorting out some teething problems with the carbs and stuff but seems to be all good now.
I have one weird issue hopefully you can help me with! With the headlamp off, I press the rear brake pedal, and the clock backlights and the parking lamp light up as well as the rear brake light.
Brake pedal switch is wired to complete the circuit, White is connected to White in the headlamp and front brake switch is a plug, so nothing plugged into it.

Re: GT380M Restoration
Check which orange wire the brake light is connected to in the headlamp shell. It should be to the plain orange wire. There is another orange wire with a green marker. If it is connected to that it could cause the problem you describe. Kev

Orange wire with the green marker isn't connected at all, what is this wire for?
