Very nice Triumph Vitesse as well! I'm with you on having a riders bike not a show pony.

Hi barney. Thanks. Glad you said Vitesse :D . Most people say nice Herald grrr ;) . Use her everyday to work. She's getting outnumbered with bikes at the mo tho!. Still my baby :D. Don't do show ponies!. They're there to used eh.

Did you know that the Herald/Vitesse had a tighter turning circle than a london taxi?
Lovely straight 6 2 litre engine - I had a 2.5pi back in the mid 70s, another lovely car even though the low pressure lucas injection system was pants.
Proof that four strokes are over complicated

the triumph spitfire I had in the seventies had the same turning circle the front wheels would turn to 90 degrees to the car made it very easy to park in a tight space :) ;) ;) 8-)

I had a Roadster MGB with front wheels that turned 360 degrees, very useful when used as a dodgem at the local fairground..

Passed my driving test in a Triumph Herald in 1969, perfect car for the three point turn, made things much easier. :P
Passed my bike test the same year on a 1957 James Captain, twice round the block and a very dangerous emergency stop. :o Anyone my age will know what I mean. ;)
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" :x they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".

Hi all. Quick update on the GT. So got a few probs sorted to get running and riding. New ring for exhaust end ,made and welded. Carbs aqua blasted and rebuilt. Couple of rides in and she smokes like a 40adayer. Bugger!. Crank seal duff from sitting in someone's lounge for 4yrs!. So motor at Alpha classics getting some therapy. So now it getting some proper loving. Just a general tart up, powder coat, paint, make some bits, buy some bits you know the score😊.
Just doing forks. Finally got apart!. Have read about different thicknesses. I've got seals from Legends that look ok,tho they're 11mm. Has anyone had any issues with these or is it best to go genuine?. Gonna have some questions so please bear with. Cheers Nick
