Hi Alan, surely you have at least two of everything in your Alladin's Cave of everything GT550,
Sadly I can't help you, after making several phone calls, to GT550 Fanatics that I know here.
Bike Club meetings resume here next month, so will investigate further
Cheers.

Kokusan left Denso right. The 750 will not fit a 550 .

I'm not sure but i tried a 750 one on my 550J and the end cap was a different shape and would not go in the compartment. I just swapped the end caps and it worked fine :D

So i have sorted it out now. The left one in your photo will fit the 550 the right one is for a 750. The clue is in the position of the bolt plate situation on the cap. The 550 its to the left of the cap and the 750 its the right.

I knew one of them was for a 550j.Just not sure which, although you did have me doubting myself.
FYI Barney,I am the guy that sent you the 550 point cover a few years ago.

Cheers Gary, PM sent.
Must admit, I haven't had much detail work with 750 restos/spares as I let Baz do mine, but I do have a 'just in case' box with a few bits that may help in dire circumstances!! Fortunately all the triples have common parts, so that's not too difficult to keep essential spares.
The 550 starter motor is for a mate (the owner of the local bike shop that's always been helpful) who has bought a GT550 and needs bits.
I've helped where I can, but no starter motor bits.
I don't take the 'P' with genuine people, so I let stuff go for more or less what I paid. (Don't tell anyone - I've a reputation to keep!!)

Cheers to everyone else, of course. We all learn something every day!! ;)
