Been looking for a while for a GT750. Haven’t found anything nice in Canada. How much are you asking for your bike? What do you mean by no documents. I’m considering importing a bike from the UK. Thanks. Vic

Thanks for the clarification. That may be difficult to register it here then. For a locally owned bike you can sometimes get a title by going through some legal hoops.

Hi Baz
Why not buy a frame with a NOVA number get a dating letter and register it. The registration process is quite simple now and yes it will cost a bit of cash but at least you will be able to sell it. DK have a 74 frame with NOVA number.

Ok, sounds simple but DVLA require you to complete a "built up" report if you want to change a frame number. If you show on the report that the other bikes parts aren't original (Forks, gearbox etc) then you risk being issued with a Q plate. Plus, you would have to swap everything over to the new frame before you submit the report.

For an import into Canada, what documentation is actually required? It won't have a title as such from other countries, so would a Bill of Sale with declaration of year of manufacture be enough? I had fun bringing my TZ350 from Australia to the US but that wasn't ever going to be registered for road use so it wasn't too hard. I did have to use a customs clearance place for the forms though. Customs were not interested in me telling them what year it was made, but were OK if I told the clearance guys, so that shifted responsibility to check to a third party.

Not sure what you need in Canadia.

I’ll look into seeing what is required for registration here. If I did import one and found I couldn’t register it for some reason, that would be more than a bad thing!
