Hi there,
I am new to this forum so hello !! My father has a Suzuki GT550 1972 that he has owned for some years but not ridden.
We have now discovered that the fuel tap is leaking and when stripped the round seal with 4 holes in is perished etc... sadly Suzuki are listing this seal and the complete fuel tap as no longer available !!
When I look on the parts finder you can order the seal and complete fuel tap for the 1973 but looking at the tap its different as our 72 has 3 outlets and the 73 seems to show 1 outlet ?
Does anyone have any experience on fitting the newer fuel tap to the 1972 model or any ideas where I can get the correct parts !!
I love old bikes but so annoying when face problems like this.
Many thanks
John

Hi John
Welcome to you and your Dad
the seal is still available so you might not have to swap the tap out
it is part number 44341-33150
Here's one on ebay
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUZUKI-GT750 ... 1816119711
It is listed as being L-B but I'm pretty sure (!) it fits earlier versions. Worth a punt for £6
Good luck with bringing the bike back to life

Re: Suzuki GT550 1972 fuel cock issue
Hi and welcome to the forum. The early taps have three exit feeds and have different gaskets. The one you require for the 1972 J model is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161820624912
They have four holes not five.
You will find that a lot of parts suppliers miss out the J model. To be sure ask on here we have lots of previous experience
