GT750A Tire recommendations?

Post by Write2Paul90277 »

Hi folks.

Somewhere on the forum there must be a list of original OEM tires for the GT750 -- and perhaps recommendations for modern-day equivalents.

Where might I find that info?

Thanks!

My personal choice for modern tyres on my 76 kettle is Bridgestone Battlax BT45's, although they have recently been updated/improved/replaced with BT46's. Been using these on mine for over 20 years and have been more than happy with the performance and price, highly recommended :D
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" :x they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".

Thanks,

I've heard good things about the Battlax but (to my eye) they look a bit too modern on a mid-70s GT.
Has anyone found a more OEM-looking (old school) tire they're happy with?

Modern tyres for modern roads, so Avon Roadriders on the Hippo and Dunlop Streetsmarts on the 550s.

Having watched a good few episodes of "johnny's vintage motorcycles" on you tube, where they, in the U.S. restore classic kawasaki' s and fit Kenda tyres.. I've fitted some KENDA tyres to my kettle. they are very good indeed and I've no hesitation in recommending them.

Using Mitas on my 3 classic bikes IMO the right look and can't fault the handling and price :D Having used Conti's in the past only got 3.5K miles on the rear of the Kettle already way past that mileage on the Bonnie with loads of tread still left.

Yes, Conti rear mileage is not great.
I only got 2.5k on the zed.
They stick well and look "classic" though.
