Just seen a locking petrol cap for a kettle and several other models on eBay, for £272 Robbin bastards.
I know that's probably small change to some mega rich people, but for the average guy it's ridiculously high and a total rip off.
I was told recently that prices for classic bikes is dropping and you'd get more for your bike if you stripped it down and sold for spares (not sure about that?) But I might have to get the tools out and start pulling the old girl to bits when I'm finally to old and feeble to ride her. (The bike that is )
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".
Yes Steve. I was offered a very good price for my 550 earlier this year but when he told me he was going to dismantle it and sell the parts I turned him away!
Good for you Barney, absolute bloody sacrilege
The thought of my kettle being stripped for parts makes my blood run cold, so I can't ever imagine I'd sell it.
I've been told that most classics that get nicked are stripped for parts, bring back hanging,
that's what I say

The eBay greedy bastards are at it again £590 for a front mudguard and £430 for a grab rail

The prices being asked are probably small change to some mega rich classic bike enthusiast, but to the average guy with a hobby it's disheartening
Shouldn't be too much of a problem for you Al

I could not imagine trying to restore one of these triples nowadays. The satisfaction has gone. It's simply get yr wallet out and pay. Auto jumbles are almost pointless for finding bits for these bikes and other bikes of that time.
Was it ever going to be any other way?

There is one seller on ebay that lists NOS Suzuki parts for ridiculous prices. They have been listed for years. But he must sell the odd part otherwise they wouldn't keep being relisted.
