Baz & his mate did that one about 4/5 years ago . They did it in about an hour if I remember correctly - so it'll be 'just' out of warranty.
Ride it up there and he might do a similar job (again).

Hi Frank, I had the same problem last year, that is thinking my starter motor was on the blink. :(
Started making enquiries re' removing it, stripping it down and repairing it, or simply replacing it.
Before doing that though I replaced my 7 year old Motobatt battery and problem solved. Nothing wrong with my 49 year old starter motor, it still works like a new one. :D
Hope your problem is solved as easily.
Cheers, Steve W.
P.S. I didn't go for a new Motobatt as the prices have gone through the roof, so I bought an Atom battery which is an American product, paid around £55 and very impressed with my purchase :P
P.P.S. I always start my kettle from cold with the kickstart, to save the battery and when it's warmed up use the leccy button.
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" :x they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".

Hi steve thanks for that , yes starting from cold on the kickstarter, is a good idea , the hippo as I keep named from Alan h starts very well from cold on the kickstart , what happened one day it just clicked from the solonoid , so I bought a new one fitted it still the same , but when I rocked the bike in Second and pressed the starter it started, and this continued until it wouldn’t start at all , so the battery was a bit low so I bought a new one charged it , and yes it turned the starter motor but very slow , and laboured, I haven’t rocked it in gear yet but I think it’s just non use steve , I rode it the other day for about 30 miles it was starting on its own , now I come to use it again and uuurgh urrrgh slow lol  so I thought let’s get a new one carbs off tank off air box off , but apparently it’s more involved than that , I’m reading drain the water cooled system, take off sris pipes take off hoses , and the starter cover , I’m not sure if I no enough about these 750s yet to get it all back together like you guys are all bloody brilliant with them lol …
I’ll take it out later and see where I am with it .. thanks mate appreciate the help :D
