On my original badge the colour appears to be more of a metal red?

Be careful how you apply it Mal, as it is very thin. Just keep the badge level. Easily scrapes off if you get it around the edges.

Cheers - I bought the paint but then had a brainwave and used red lense repair tape - carefully trimmed with a craft knife luckily enough the T500K badges are flat - more than pleased with the result

One advantage is that you don't have to worry about brush strokes - I tried it first using solvent based Candy Gipsy Red but it looked crap and yet that worked fine on the GT250K but they just needed freshening up - another advantage of the tape is that it comes off easily as I have two paint sets , one red and one blue and the red badges don't look right on the blue tank .

Always a good source for those colours are nail varnish. Look for the cheap stuff in the markets. You get them in lot of garrish colours even with glitter like in the GT fillings on the side panels.
