I've cleaned and checked my original oil lines again and I didn't get anymore air bubbles. Since I can't seem to find any leaks at all I'm beginning to suspect that perhaps the larger diameter nylon tube that connects to the check valve is not sealing 100%. It might be either that or there is a slight split under the steel collet. I am not completely sure though and these are just some ideas I had. One way to see if the valves leak is to fill the oil lines, hang them up and see if the oil lines empty themselves

Regarding the Kawasaki check valves, I have some but I haven't tried to change the ones on my original oil lines as I didn't want to remove the original ones as my check valves are currently ok. I did measure and compare a Suzuki and Kawasaki check valve and they seem to have the same size fitting so I'd expect them to fit unless anyone knows differently.

I replaced the valve with a new one. The one from Kawasaki. But when I starting the motorcycle, air bubbles were still getting into the hose Then I did a leak test. I marked the place where I located the leak. I managed to seal it (epoxy). At that moment the air bubble disappeared. Also no oil leaks onto the case.





By the way, when I used David Foxall's directions, I snapped off the flange of the oil line. Fortunately, the hose is holding the valve and is tight.

I have a new problem. My speedometer is not working. It was overhauled by a specialist and the shaft came apart. I have to buy another one. I know that in Suzuki Gt550 there were two types, early and late. But does anyone know if the counter from the GT250 will fit? The speedometers look the same on the GT 250, GT 380 and GT 550.

Finally got in the garage today & found a speedo. The tired one is very tired - in fact it seems to be dead, but I have this one which works ok with an electric drill. It's miles not kilometers though and I don't have a better one. I'm sorry, but I'll have to charge you a lot of money for this one - will €35 plus postage be too much? It cost me £30 if I remember correctly so I won't get rich from you! There's a screw in the odo reset, but no ferrule to twist.
If that's ok, I'll get it to the post office and let you know what the postage is.

The clocks on the 250, 380 & 550 are similar but there are changes for the indication lights on different models. Not sure about the inside workings.
