Hi John, tax it from the 1st of April, otherwise you'll have to wait until the 1st of May.
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" :x they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".

Very nice, all you need now is for this latest polar vortex that's been forecast to pass over  and you can get out and have some fun.
P.S. I knew as soon as I taxed the GSX on April 1st the weather would turn s###e :x

Hi guys.. just a quick question on the free road tax. I already go free on my gt380 and gt750, but I want to put my 1981 z650 on the road this year. It was first registered 27/3/1981, so I know it qualifies for no MOT.
Will I have to wait for april 1st for the free tax or can I do it before then?
did not have it on the road at all last year so did not have the bother then!
thanks everyone. Andy

It's not actually free ved until April 1st of the year after it's 40th birthday Andy, but you 'should' be able to do it at the post office if they know what they're doing.
Take the v5 with you and they should send it it.
Unless of course, they're a bit 'fick'.....
