cruzinmage pistons

Post by frank33756 »

Hello to everyone,

I recently replaced the crankshaft seals as well as pistons and rings from cruzinimage. Rode the bike gently, no revving cold, under the rpm red zone for about 500miles with no issues.
Suddendly I lost power at the right cylinder and idlle back home, to scratch my head between carburetors and timing to trouble shoot the bike...to finally remove the top end and finding a torned up piston...

anyone experience a similar failure, please check the picture !

It looks like the ring has got trapped in the port.

Piston fitted back to front maybe? Ring has definitely snagged in a port a po did the same to my bike years ago but strangely it still went OK and only came to light when I stripped it to get the crank rebuilt
