Ignition setup
Newbie here…. On a GT750M with points, can timing and points gap be set with a timing light and dwell meter? If they can, what are the dwell specs for the points? Thanks

Re: Ignition setup
Just set with a timing light or ohm meter. There's no advance/retard, so dwell is determined by the points cam alone and can't be changed.

Thanks Alan. I’m just accustomed to setting point gap on my 4 stroke bike with a dwell meter after an initial setting with feeler gauges. I’m also strongly considering the installation of an electronic ignition on the bike this summer.
Another question. What’s the best way to sync the carbs? I have a manometer set. Wasn’t sure about vacuum ports on the bike (haven’t picked it up yet)..

Try it first and if there's a problem, send 'em to Baz on here and he'll sort them. He's done a few sets for my Hippo and 550s and he's all geared up for them.
I've had several 550s and a Hippo and all ran fine on points. The choice is yours of course, but if electronics break, you're shoving it. All 3 points should never fail at the same time.
