GT550j

Post by Triopsu »

Hello to everyone.
My recently acquired GT550j has already been bored out 1.5mm oversize.
Does this mean i will have to get them re-sleeved?(recomendations)
Or try find some early iron Barrels.
Advice appreciated.
Thanks

I’ve searched but can’t find any +2?

I'm not sure if there are any +2.0mm pistons available, I haven't really seen any advertised as such but someone else might know if there is an alternative.
You could contact BAZ (bluesmokebaz) on this forum as he might be able to help you.

There are some reputable places that will do cylinder re-sleeving but I haven't used them so I'll leave it to others to comment on that.
Getting early replacement barrels will be expensive and probably a last resort but I think someone should be able to re-sleeve the cylinders.

There are a set of standard bore cylinders on ebay at arbikepartsonline. Not a bad price and in the UK. I haven't seen +2 mm pistons or new sleeves.
