CASWELL ZINC KIT; WORTH THE MONEY?

Post by wardy »

ME AGAIN!
I WONDER IF ANYONE HAS USED A CASWELL ZINC PLATING KIT AND CAN REPORT HOW GOOD THEY ARE.
i'VE TWO GT380'S TO REBUILD AND A FEW PARTS FROM MY KETTLE COULD DO WITH REPLATING, BUT
BEFORE I BUY ONE, I NEED TO KNOW IF THEY WORK!
CHEERS, aNDY

Zinc plating is so cheap I wonder if it’s worth buying a kit! You can get a Bucket full done round here for about £25 and the finish is great. Just remember to polish or smooth the important bits first for the best finish. Cheers BAZ

forget the kit mate, been there tried that.lots of nasty chemicals pain in the arse to prep before hand and very time consuming. plus your limited to the size of stuff you can plate... no wheel spindles etc etc
Like the ol fella says its cheaper to take it to a platers and the finish is a lot better than trying to do it yourself
