John If it has a Suzuki part number then you can Google with that and see what comes up; if it doesn't, you can sometimes find the part number at www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm and then try up and down the years / models to see if that same part number features on other bikes of the era.

That is....I don't know :-))

Good luck,
Mike

John,

You didn't look hard enough :-)) try the GT185 Seat section, part #17.

17 46310-36000
CARRIER
1 K,L,M,A,B; OPT

Or Robinsons site http://www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk/conte ... 85seat.htm

NLA, of course.

I read an old post from H2Rick that said, and I quote:

North America didn't get any GT185s with a grab rail because I can't see a number in the book for those.
However.....there WAS a carrier offered under part number 46310-36000. It fits all years of the GT185. A little detective work shows that it also fits the GT125 which was never sold over here (ie in the US). I'm not sure which markets got that little tiddler.
As to whether or not there's a market for such a thing, I wouldn't even venture a guess.

Personal opinion worth nothing from me is that the market will be greater now than years ago - but I've no clue if its worth your skill and time to reproduce. If you've the energy, market test one on fleebay and see if you get a tons of bites?

Cheers,
Mike

I've sold three racks so far but I seldom advertise or make them.
due to this and that not quite right a little short or to low blah blah so I thought bugger it I wont put them on ebay or bother making them unless I get ask.
I did get ask twice for rack for the GT125 and UK to believe it or not.
I've got two customers now waiting for a rack and one grab rail.
now that I'll be getting an original rack ,I can now make them more accurately.
your right years ago no one would have been interested in any Suzuki racks as the were only good enough to carry a lunch bag.
I certainly wasn't so I bought a bigger after market rack as did most folks back then.
now that we are older, some want every thing that were original inc racks back in the day.
in this past week I've had quite a few request for racks and in the 10 years of making these on and off.
I've never had so many request.
just sold 2 x GT 550, 4 x T/GT500 ,2 x GT750,2 x T250 and 1x GT185 racks and this only started this week and last.
I've made the 250, 550's and the 750 and one GT500.just got to make 3 T500 racks and once I get the GT185 rack then that to.
so it has been a busy week or two.
got to pick my grand daughter up in 1/2 hour other wise I'd be working, will go in this afternoon.

thanks for the info.
never thought of looking under the seat I was looking at Frames.

The 'over here' mentioned in my earlier post was a quote from a fellow in the US - I know we had the 185/125 in UK!!
Cheers,
Mike
ps: I probably should have altered the text to make that clear
